Why do so many leaders fail?Leadership development expert Kathy Cramer believes an over-reliance on operational and strategic skillsplanning, organizing, and developing strategiesis behind the failure of so many high potential leaders. These skills are necessary, but alone do not inspire. To drive outstanding performance and inspire others to follow, one must develop a personal magnetic power to communicate in ways that move people to action Lead Positive takes the fundamentals of Asset-Based Thinking (ABT), pioneered by Cramer and first revealed in her bestseller Change the Way You See Everything, and turns them into a playbook for successful leadership. ABT is a simple mindset management process that shows people how to make small shifts in perception and thinking to achieve great results. Cramer shows leaders how to apply ABT to shift their attention away from what is negative and learn to intentionally shine the spotlight on the positive, beneficial facts of a situation. As they make this mental shift from negative to positive aspects, they improve their optimism, empathy, and confidence. When their mindset zooms in on what is strong, valuable, and possible, what they say and do is far more likely to inspire others to action. In short, ABT helps leaders shift internally so they can excel externally. It teaches them how to change how they: SEE: Leaders learn how to shift their perspective from the negative side of the ledger to the positive side. SAY: Leaders learn how to connect what they say to the positive evidence they see so they can create magnetic, high-impact communication. DO: Informed by what they see and say, leaders learn the behaviors that will work best to inspiring action in others. Written for anyone ready to update their capacity to lead and to engage others, Lead Positive weaves findings in neuroscience and positive psychology with case studies of exemplary leaders to make effective leadership strategies come alive.
