About the Author
Born in November 1958 in Henan Province. Wang Jun began work in July 1976, and was awarded a PhD in Law by Government Administration School, Peking University. From 2005 till now he has been acting as Deputy Minister of Finance. Wang Jun acted as Deputy Director, and later as Director, in the Accounting Regulatory Department, during the period from 1987 to 1992. From 1992 to 1993, Wang Jun was Director-Level Secretary to the Minister in the General Office; from 1993 to 1994, he took on the office of Deputy Secretary-General of CICPA; from 1994 to 1998, he was Deputy Director-General of General Office in MOF; from 1998 to September 2003, he was acting as Director of General Office and News Spokesman; and from September 2003, he has been the Assistant Minister; from 2004 till now he also served as the General Secretary of the China Accounting Standards Committee. In 2005, he was appointed as a member of the Standards Advisory Council of International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). Wang Jun participates in drawing up and implementing the finance policies, medium and long-term finance programming and reform project; he is also responsible for administering the social security expenditure in central government, the accounting profession and setting of accounting standards.
