The Design Council commissioned von Stamm to write a collection of case studies, built around the themes of innovation, design and creativity. Innovation has become a major driving force in an increasing number of sectors and activities and is needed for companies to develop processes and strategies. Innovation can enhance competitiveness but requires a different set of skills to those needed in everyday business or administration. Creativity is an essential building block for innovation. Innovation in turn, is creativity plus successful implementation. Design is important for a companys success, as it is necessary for product development and designers have a valuable contribution to make to the innovation field but should not be seen alone as responsible for implementing innovation.
Develops an integrative approach to innovation, creativity and design, and shows how these topics are related. Provides a collection of substantive case studies that are supported by academic commentaries from both the academic and industry sectors. Identifies tools and techniques that will help improve an organizations effectiveness. Innovation Leadership Forum has members from high-profile businesses including Marks & Spencer, Nestlé, and Unilever, which will generate sales.
