The past century has seen huge strides in the area of financial economics. Mathematics and finance are more joined today than they have ever been before. Specifically, we have seen advancements in the areas of option and derivative pricing, price and volatility series, capital structure and dividend strategy, as well as the development of many risk-based asset pricing models. However, underneath all of the computations lies a lot of theory that often goes unrecognized. Often, this can lead to over- or under-estimations without the finance professional being the wiser. Additionally, many gaps and even contradictions exist within the newly-developed finance theory, leaving practitioners, especially those new to the game, with countless unanswered questions. Equity Valuation, Risk and Investment aims to answer such questions, while also providing a balance of theory, quantitative analysis and real-world examples, for today’s finance professional.
Real-world examples combined with today’s hottest finance areas. The author looks to integrate both the theory and quantitative analysis of finance with the day-to-day life of practitioners. An entire chapter is dedicated to case studies in valuation; Coca-Cola, Intel and Procter & Gamble are just a few of the companies that are profiled and studied. University Appeal. The book’s comprehensive nature should appeal to MBA professors looking to adopt the book for introductory courses. Secured Endorsements from leading financial institutions. Stimes has already secured endorsements from executives and quants at well-known firms, such as Millennium Partners, Moody’s and Giant Industries.
